New HSE first aid regulations

As of the 1st October 2009 the new HSE first aid regulations will come into effect. This may have a direct impact on your business. If you rely on an 'Appointed Person' (someone who attended a 6 hour course) for your first aid cover you may find that as of the 1st October you will be in contravention of the HSE (first aid) regulations 1981. You may need to have you first aider re-qualify with the new 'emergency first aid at work' qualification.

As of the 1st October the 4 day first aid at work course will have a new duration of just 3 days.

For more information on the rule changes please contact us and see our new courses section or visit http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/new.htm.

We are now taking bookings for both the new 1 day and 3 day course (to be run after 1st October.

Pictures from Not All Bad

Mark Purvis and Richard Nauyokas (Cpl Nauyokas, Bad Lads Army) worked together as instructors whilst serving in the army. Richard now owns and runs Not All Bad, offering motivational courses.

Together they offer day or week long leadership and motivational camps to corporate clients and disassociated youths. We like to offer a hard but worthwhile experience to the students and at the same time, if required the students can gain certificates in first aid, health and safety, stress awareness and conflict management.

Here we offer a few pictures from one of our week long courses run in Thatcham.

At MPTC Ltd, whenever we can we like to add a bit of realism to our training. We spend a bit of time making casualties up and then the newly trained first aiders must care for them.

Although at times it can look a bit gruesome, we find that the students enjoy the added pressure and realism.
